Silentworld Foundation
As a sister organisation to Silentworld Shipping and Logistics, the Silentworld Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the development of maritime archaeology and specifically the search for lost shipwrecks, together with philanthropic support of charitable projects in the Pacific Islands.
Recent successes on the maritime archaeological front include locating the wreck of Philip Parker King’s “Mermaid” and just in December 2009 the successful locating of Matthew Flinders’ “Cato” on Wreck Reef some 450km out in the Coral Sea.
On the philanthropic front the Foundation is actively involved in small projects such as the distribution of medicines and foodstuffs throughout the Solomon Islands, and on a larger scale is currently undertaking a major project to provide a secure water supply and plumbing system to the main hospital in Honiara.
