Sasape International Shipyard Limited

In late 2010, Silentworld Shipping and Logistics (Silentworld) embarked on a joint venture with the National Provident Fund (NPF), taking control of the previously dormant Sasape Marine Limited, at Tulagi, Central Islands Province, Solomon Islands.

In taking over the formerly State-owned enterprise, Silentworld and NPF launched a new entity named Sasape International Shipyard Limited (SISL). Operations and management of the new venture are performed exclusively by Silentworld.

SISL commenced refurbishment and enhancement of the shipyard in 2011 and operations in May 2012, and is progressively implementing the following shipyard services to the highest international standards:

• Two slipways of 500 tonne and later 700 tonne respectively
• General machine shops
• Shipwright & interior fit-out services
• Engineering and life raft supply and maintenance
• In-water ship maintenance
• Paint shop
• Spare parts supply
• General repair services

Through SISL, Silentworld looks forward to continuing its work in helping raise local industry standards and providing important maintenance and repair services to the increasing number of vessels operating in the region.
